  • Ted Tewksbury III, Ph.D.

    Chairman of Board, Chief Executive Officer and President

    Dr. Tewksbury has served as Energy Focus’s Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President since February 2017. Dr. Tewksbury served as Energy Focus’s Executive Chairman of the Board from December 2016 to February 2017. Dr. Tewksbury is a well-known semiconductor industry executive with a distinguished track record of transforming and building visionary businesses. As the former CEO of Integrated Device Technology, Dr. Tewksbury architected the company’s turnaround from 2008 to 2013, putting it in new businesses such as analog, power management, wireless battery charging and radio frequency (RF) products. Dr. Tewksbury served on the Board of Directors of Entropic Communications from 2010 to 2015 and, as CEO from 2014 to 2015, led the company’s return to profitability and sale to MaxLinear, where he currently serves on the Board of Directors. Dr. Tewksbury was President and COO of AMI Semiconductor from 2006 to 2008, Managing Director at Maxim Integrated from 2000 to 2006 and held a variety of engineering and management positions at IBM Microelectronics and Analog Devices. Dr. Tewksbury served on the Board of Directors of the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) from 2011 to 2013 and has been a Board Director at Jariet Technologies since its spinoff from Semtech in 2015. Dr. Tewksbury received the B.S. degree in Architecture, as well as M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from MIT.

    • Jerry Turin

      Chief Financial Officer

      Mr. Turin has served as Energy Focus’s Chief Financial Officer and Secretary since May 2018. Mr. Turin is an experienced Chief Financial Officer with more than 20 years of strategic leadership in corporate finance, business development, turnarounds, mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and investor relations within public and privately-held companies.  Most recently, Mr. Turin served as Chief Financial Officer of Intematix, a venture-owned supplier of phosphors and lighting solutions for the LED market. He helped lead the company’s turnaround through operational streamlining, manufacturing consolidation, gross margin expansion and an acquisition, culminating in its successful sale to a China-backed LED joint venture in 2017. Prior to that, Mr. Turin was the Chief Financial Officer of Oclaro, a publicly traded supplier of optical solutions for network equipment customers, from 2008 to 2013. In this role, he raised over $500 million in financing from equity, debt, divestitures and other transactions to fund revenue growth from $250 million to $600 million through a sector roll up of public and private optical companies. Before that, Mr. Turin served as Oclaro’s Vice President of Finance and was Corporate Controller from 2005 to 2008. Earlier in his career, Mr. Turin was Director of Finance at Silicon Spice and Corporate Controller at Cirrus Logic. Mr. Turin received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and began his career with 11 years at Deloitte & Touche, where he was promoted through multiple levels to Senior Manager.

      • Larry Fallon

        Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing

        Mr. Fallon joined the Company as Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing in May 2017. Prior to joining Energy Focus, Mr. Fallon served as Vice President of Sales at CIMCON Lighting, a provider of wireless outdoor lighting, where he built and led the company’s network of direct sales, agents, representatives and distributors. Prior to CIMCON, Mr. Fallon served as Vice President of Sales at Sensity Systems, a solutions provider that allows the conversion of traditional lighting systems to connected LED systems. Mr. Fallon has also held various sales management and leadership positions at ETi Solid State Lighting, Lighting Science Group, Acuity Lighting and Osram-Sylvania. Mr. Fallon earned his B.A. in Business Administration from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.

        • Laszlo Takacs

          Chief Technology Officer
          Mr. Takacs joined Energy Focus as Chief Technology Officer in December 2017.  Prior to joining Energy Focus, Mr. Takacs served as Sr. Principal Engineer at Soraa, where he implemented flicker-reducing technologies across the product portfolio and architected the company’s wireless and wired connected lighting systems. Prior to Soraa, Mr. Takacs served as Sr. Principal Engineer in Rambus’ Optoelectronics group, where he led the design and development of lighting electronics for the company’s lamp portfolio. From 2007 to 2012, Mr. Takacs was Director of R&D at Energy Focus, where he designed and developed our highly successful military IntellitubeTM, which has shipped over 500,000 units to the U.S. Navy and other customers. Earlier in his career, Mr. Takacs held various engineering and technology management positions, including CTO at GENVAC Aerospace and Director of Engineering at General Vacuum in Cleveland, Ohio.  Mr. Takacs has authored numerous technical papers and has 11 patents issued and additional patents pending. He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. 
          • William Wright

            Vice President, Operations

            Mr. Wright joined the Company as Operations Manager in October 2016 and was appointed Vice President, Operations in October 2017. Mr. Wright has extensive experience leading Lean Manufacturing initiatives and Quality System improvements in multiple business units, ranging from manufacturing startups to global multi-plant operations. Prior to joining Energy Focus, Mr. Wright served as Director of Operations for NetShape Technologies, a manufacturer of highly engineered metal components, and as Plant Manager at Kennametal Inc., an industry leader in high performance cutting tools and other wear-resistant materials solutions. Mr. Wright began his career at Swagelok Company, where he held multiple leadership roles in Operations, Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement, and Engineering. Mr. Wright earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
